Introduction:
The NSS Cell of C.I.T was formed in 2015 under the guidance of Prof. Avijit Das, Director C.I.T. This Cell has got affiliation from M.A.K.A.U.T where 100 volunteers and one Program Officer has got registered. Prof. Abhishek Saha is working as chairman as well as the Program Officer of this Cell. Prof. Pranab Das Chowdhury , Prof. Debashis Majhi, Prof. Gopal Mondal and Prof. Abhishek De are the respective members of the NSS Cell.
Activities Organised by NSS Cell:
1.Blood Donation Camp:
The NSS Cell of CIT has a 'Blood Donation Camp' with the help of 'Barasat Cancer Research Center'.We all know very well about the importance of blood and its scarcity in our society . So, like every year the NSS cell has organised a blood donation camp in April'2016 to make the student responsible for the society and aware of its importance. Around 50 students donated blood willingly. All the activities related to blood donation were well maintained by the members of NSS Cell.
2.Independence day Celebration :
The NSS Cell Of CIT has organised independence day with enormous pleasure and joy . To prepare themselves for this program they had been practicing for at least 15 days continuously . They did March past with great courage . they played drams , bugils like professional players . then everybody sang the National Anthem with proud . After that all students gathered in the seminar room "Atrium" were the Director delivered and encouraging speech to all .
3.Teacher's day Celebration :
On 5th sept. the NSS Cell of CIT organised Teacher's day . District Magistrate of North 24 Pgs and S.P of Barasat were invited. Vivekananda Sangha from Kanyakumary took a very important role to Celebrate Teacher's day in CIT. First, the Celebration started by unveiling the portray of Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan and Diya Prajjalan . Then the delegate from Vivekananda Sangha delivered a warm enthusiastic to the students over an hour. Next different activities from students end were well organised.
4.Village Adoption :
10 volunteers of NSS Cell were given a task to adopt 5 children form native village . The had to prepare them with the knowledge of basic internet . the volunteers prepared those 5 children with good skill and present them in front of the viewers with a good power point presentation about how the did it . All the viewers present in the programme asked several questions to those children about internet and its daily use , they answered it confidently .
